Propolis is a mixture of plant resins and gums, collected by our friends, the Cape honeybees, from a diverse range of plants, from unopened leaf or flower buds and from the branches and stems of plants and trees, for the health and defense of the colony.

Propolis has valuable medicinal and protective properties.
Best known for its an antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties, as well as an immune stimulant. It is also documented as having anti tumor, local anaesthetic, anti-inflammatory, spasmolytic, healing of gastric ulcers, and capillary strengthening properties.

Internally, it can be taken in a little water or honey, to prevent and treat infection, and facilitate healing.
Good for gargling to treat throat infections, or as a throat spray
Externally, it can be applied to skin and wounds to aid in healing, diluted in a little water, honey or blended into a balm. It can also be used undiluted on skin and wounds.
